LUIS LEON MORALES

Born in the year 1950  in Cuenca, the Athens of Ecuador and Cultural Heritage of Humanity, Province of Azuay which is the cradle of the Ecuadorian Plastic Arts. In 1967 Luis Leon Morales obtained the title of Professor of Drawing and Painting at the School of Fine Arts “Remigio Crespo Toral” (Cuenca, Ecuador). The same year he started a course in Methodology for Professional Training Instructions in Vigo, Spain. Luis Morales also acquired a degree in Decoration of Ceramics at the Center for Professional and Technical Improvement “Casa de America”, Vigo, Spain. In 1977 he achieved a Master’s Degree in the Artisan Ceramic Department  in Cuenca and in 1991 a Diploma in Technical Training Center of Porcelain, Cuenca.

Awards: 1967. First Prize in Drawing and Painting in the Salon of the State University of Cuenca; 1968. “Doce de Abril” Painting Salon Award, Cuenca 

Experience: 1967. Decorator at First Ceramic Industry in Cuenca; 1981. Owner of Ceramic workshop “Modecor” ; 1992. Decorator of Artistic Ceramics “Gacelmon” , Cuenca; 1999. Owner of Ceramic workshop “León Cerámicas”, Cuenca, Ecuador; 2002. Realization of two murals for the Chapel of Man “Guayasamín Foundation”, Quito, Ecuador
