We, Himadri Hans Handloom, are a social organisation which has been working towards empowerment of women artisans for 20 years, in one of the Himalayan regions in India called Almora, Uttarakhand. Himadri Hans Handloom is an initiative began with a few local women of Almora district in Uttarakhand State of India with the objective of getting the women out of the drudgery and reviving the dying art of weaving from hills.

After years of struggle and hard work, today the initiative has turned into two weaving centres, where almost 200 women make world class handmade products. This initiative has not only helped women of hills, but also it has taken the local art to international level with our artisans expertise on fibres like Pure Cashmere, Alpaca, Lambswool and Merino. Our product line includes Shawl, Stole, Scarves, Throws, running fabric along with Hand knitted Caps, Gloves, Sweaters, etc. We can proudly say that our processes are ethical and follow sustainable fashion norms to our accreditations like Handloom Mark, Fair Trade certification and Craftmark.
