La Choza Chula is a social enterprise working to provide education, enterprise and employment opportunities for the people of El Paredón promoting positive impact from tourism on the local community and improving human and environmental well-being.

Our local products are all made by women and young people working in El Paredón using naturally dyed textiles and Guatemalan organic cotton. The different tours that we offer (turtles or mangrove tour, cooking or bracelet making class) are organised with local guides who have been trained.

Our tours and products ensure that the local community benefits from the growing tourism in the area as well as providing support for our educational projects: creation of a library, a secondary school, a computer lab and an organic garden.
